FindMyTrainer ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our platform.

Information We Collect

If you use FindMyTrainer to book trainers or gym classes, this is what you give us:

• Your account: your name and email address. If you continue with Google, Google shares your name and email address with us for this; we never receive your Google password.
• Your bookings: the trainer, date, time and session format you pick, and for a free gym trial, the class. We don't ask for your phone number or home address — for a home session you arrange the details with your trainer in the booking's chat.
• Payments: you pay through Razorpay, which handles your card, UPI or bank details. We keep only the payment and order references, the amount, and any refund.
• Messages: what you write to a trainer in a booking's chat.
• Reviews: the rating and comment you leave for a trainer or gym, which are shown publicly with your name.
• Video calls: for an online session, your camera and microphone are streamed to your trainer during the call. We don't record calls.

If you join as a trainer, you also give us your profile: your phone number, photo, bio, qualifications and certificate, city and the areas you travel to, rates and packages, weekly availability, and any gallery photos or videos. Your profile is public once we approve it. Your phone number, email address and certificate stay private — they are not shown on it.

Automatically Collected Information

When you use our platform, we also collect:

• Visit statistics from Vercel Analytics: the pages viewed, the site that referred you, and your browser, operating system, device type and country. It works without cookies.
• Your IP address and browser details, in our hosting provider's server logs, used to keep the service running and secure
• The sign-in cookies described under Cookies below

We don't read your device's location.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve our services
• Process bookings and payments
• Send you notifications about your bookings
• Facilitate communication between users and trainers
• Respond to your comments, questions, and support requests
• Send promotional communications (with your consent)
• Detect, prevent, and address fraud and security issues
• Comply with legal obligations

Information Sharing

We may share your information with:

• The trainer you book: your name and email address, the booking details, and your messages in that booking's chat
• Partner gyms: when you book a free trial, the gym is emailed your name, email address and the class, date and time — and told again if you cancel
• Service Providers: the companies listed under Third-Party Services, which help us run the platform
• Legal Requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights
• Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. This includes encryption, secure servers, and regular security assessments. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. We may retain certain information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes, such as resolving disputes and enforcing our agreements.

Cookies

We use only the cookies the site needs to work: the ones that keep you signed in, and a short-lived one that remembers you chose to create a trainer account while you sign in with Google. Your light or dark theme choice is saved in your browser's local storage. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies, and our analytics works without cookies. Razorpay's checkout may set its own cookies while you pay. If you block cookies, you won't be able to stay signed in.

Third-Party Services

Our platform uses the following third-party services:

• Razorpay: For payment processing
• MongoDB: For data storage
• Cloudinary: For storing uploaded photos, videos and documents
• Resend: For email communications
• Google: For authentication (optional)
• Agora: For the video calls in online sessions. A call's audio and video pass through Agora's network, and Agora receives a numeric ID derived from your account — not your name or email address.
• Vercel Analytics: For visit statistics, collected without cookies

Each service has its own privacy policy governing the use of your information.

Children and Teenagers

Accounts are for people aged 18 and over. Some trainers work with children and teenagers, and a minor may train with one only when a parent or guardian books the session from their own account. The parent or guardian is then the account holder we deal with, and our booking forms ask nothing about the child.

We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has created an account or given us their information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.

Grievance Officer

If you have a complaint about how we handle your personal data, or about anything else on FindMyTrainer, you can raise it with our Grievance Officer:

Put “Grievance” in the subject line. We acknowledge every complaint within 24 hours and resolve it within 15 days of receiving it.
